How many hours do I need?
Each student has his own unique set of goals so this number varies. However, it typically takes about 20-24 hours to cover the full base of knowledge necessary to adequately prepare.

What is a reasonable amount of improvement to expect?
This number varies widely with previous experience with the test, preparation level, and goals. A reasonable first goal is usually about 50 points per section on the SAT and 2-3 points on the ACT. As the student improves, the bar can be set higher and the score goals and difficulty of questions reviewed with the tutor can be raised.

How much time do I need to prepare?
Depending on availability of student and tutor, a typical SAT/ACT tutorial can be completed over the course of 2 to 3 months. Preparation is most effective when it leads right up to a scheduled SAT or ACT so the content and techniques stay fresh.

Will there be homework?
Yes! Because it’s typically not enough just to absorb information from the tutoring sessions, most students need to apply and reinforce the content and techniques covered. Lists of homework questions are assembled using our proprietary software and targeted to areas for improvement and topics covered during the sessions. Students also typically complete 3-4 full tests over the course of their preparation, in addition to targeted homework.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Please give us as much advance notice as possible if you need to cancel. Our schedules book in advance, so last-minute cancellations prevent other students from getting on the schedule.
Cancellation policy: Less than 48 hours before the session – 50% charge for the scheduled time. Less than 24 hours before the session – 75% charge for the scheduled time.
